How can a local food enterprise help address food poverty? By staying true to a clear social mission and working hand-in-hand with the communities of East London to create practical, sustainable solutions that makes good food more accessible to everyone. This included developing a new brand identity for The Community Food Enterprise (CFE), a charity based in the London Borough of Newham, designed to better reflect its purpose, strengthen its presence and communicate its commitment to tackling food insecurity and support local residents.
CFE mission is to tackle food poverty in East London, the third highest population of the London boroughs. With the commission to rebrand the business, to appeal to its wider local base – a raising sun was developed to provide a since of hope and life-giving energy, alongside a more empowering brand pledge ‘Here until food poverty isn’t’ was developed and launched.
CFE presented a great opportunity to create a more positive visual symbol for this unforgettable local business. Inspired by the rising sun symbol of hope and its usage makes for a more impactful logo, that better reflects CFE ambition to make a difference in the communities its serves.
‘Fighting Food Poverty’ is the new platform launched alongside a new pledge to be ‘Here until food poverty isn’t’ went beyond conventional campaign thinking to provide an actionable way for local business, corporates and individuals to make an enduring commitment to serve its local communities.
