How can a big blue squirrel help employees make sense of an employee share plan? By keeping it simple—and telling a story that sticks.
When Allianz launched its new annual global Employee Share Purchase Plan, the goal was clear: ensure every employee understood the opportunity and felt confident making an informed investment decision. Enter the big blue squirrel—a memorable guide designed to bring clarity, cut through complexity, and make the plan approachable for all.
The focus of the campaign started with a simple message which developed into a powerful core proposition ‘Invest in Allianz, Invest in Yourself’. We converted the legal terms and conditions into a series of clear, simple and actionable messages, that resonated with the employee experiences during the investment process.
Our creative platform infuses the energy and engagement of two squirrels, who helped to launch and deliver the narrative in an innovative way. Hazel and Mylo our brand campaign characters, helped frame the employee investment plan in a playful way, on what can be a very dry and complex subject.
The pioneering campaign successfully reached over 120,000 employees in 42 countries, and was translated into 21 languages. The campaign included everything from digital posters and banners, pdf guides, environmental graphics, infographics and animated gifs.
We also produced two informative, but fun animations, an endorsement film with the senior leadership team, and user generated films, to launch the campaign, globally.
